Welcome to our ‘Great Dirt’ collection of expressive and age-worthy fine wines. Each tells a story of its unique soil and history, reflecting our intimate relationship with the Hawkes Bay landscape fostered over many decades of winegrowing. The select vineyard blocks from which these wines are sourced have long produced the finest of our wines. Each is made in a hands-off manner, using only the best parcels of hand-picked fruit to capture the essence and unique character of each site.
The full bodied creamy ‘Seabed’ Chardonnay displays distinct salty and mineral characters from soils with a maritime origin. The rich and complex ‘River Gravel’ Merlot Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon is from old vines planted in deep heat reflective gravel within the Gimblett Gravels Winegrowing District. Completing the collection are two incredible ‘Hillside’ reds, both from the limestone and seashell laden soils of the famed ‘Terraces’ vineyard at Bay View. A rare bottling of Syrah and a complex blend of Malbec Merlot Cabernet Franc and Syrah.
